Shanti Yoga School - 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training - Teacher - Tristan

About Tristan

Tristan has been practicing yoga since 2012 and teaching since 2016.

After working in corporate America for ten years he started a journey of self-discovery. This led him to yoga, healing, and service. He is certified in the classical Sivananda yoga lineage and in yoga therapy. He taught yoga by donation in USA, Mexico, El Salvador, and India.

In 2017 he went to India to deepen his personal yoga practice. He used this time to study classic texts such as the Bhagavad Gita and Light on Life by Iyengar, among others. He was also given the opportunity to teach students in Mumbai, Jaipur, and Om Beach.

His teaching style blends classical and modern yoga. When he is not teaching Sivananda’s “perfect practice” class, he teaches Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin, and Restorative. He often custom-tailors each class based on the unique blend of attendees. He takes the time to get to know each student. Everybody gets something valuable out of his classes.

He believes in helping people identify their true values. He believes in living a more authentic life. He wants to share what he found. He started Shanti Yoga for these reasons.

Shanti Yoga School - 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training - Teacher - Heather

About Heather

Heather first came to the practice of yoga to remedy the late nights and loud music which were routine for her as the owner and manager of a busy music venue. As her practice deepened she learned more and more to surrender into life’s rich flow with awareness.

In 2016 she transitioned completely out of the bar business so that she could devote herself fully to the study of yoga and Ayurveda.

She believes that Yoga is one path towards living to our full potential, towards union with the Self. She is so grateful for the authentic teachings of yoga that she can barely contain her enthusiasm when it comes to sharing these teachings with others.

Heather loves to guide her students through a holistic Hatha Yoga practice, incorporating Pranayama, Japa Mantra, and meditation along with Asana.

She believes that Asana is a form of dynamic meditation and encourages students to connect with the Stillness in their practice. Students can expect a sense of clarity and openness, with each class bringing new discoveries.

Heather completed her 200 hour YTT in 2016 with Yoga Veda in Ajijic, Mexico, and her 300 hour YTT in 2019 with Inteyoga in Mysore, India.

She teaches with Vastu Yoga in Isla Mujeres, Mexico and Shanti Yoga in Gokarna, India for their 200 hour YTT.

Heather is a Usui/Holy Fire Reiki Master. She is trained in Thai Bodywork and Ayurvedic/ Panchakarma treatments.

Her teaching style is smooth and relaxed, yet empowering and strengthening. Don’t let her soothing voice fool you. She’s a warrior-ess.
